For several months, Jose Vizcanio endured suffering from pain and immobility to his left knee. Eventually, he decided it was time to have surgery. He admitted to an acute care hospital for a left total knee arthroplasty, then referred to Highlands Rehabilitation Hospital for further therapy.
Before his hospitalization, Jose worked at Ft. Bliss Military Base refurbishing military vehicles. He loves his job and his goal is to return to work. He was very impressed with the staff at Highlands, especially the therapy department. “I was extremely motivated by the team! They helped me with so many tips and they did not let me forget my goal,” Jose shared.
“Yesterday at 7:30 a.m., knowing that I was going home the next day, they made sure I was ready to go home,” Jose added. “I really enjoyed the gym and all their special equipment.” He also shared that he loved the food and could not believe that they would actually call him to ask him his choice of juice for breakfast. “I’m going to miss the food!”
Having been discharged from Highlands, Jose returned home with his wife and son. He can walk short distances and continues his recovery with outpatient therapy. Jose plans on having his right knee surgery as well, and he will be back!
Thank you, Mr. Vizcanio, for making Highlands Rehabilitation Hospital your choice!
